Sharpitor, Leather Tor, and Peek Hill

This is a short route that leads onto moors, up to Sharpitor (A), and then onto Leather Tor, two rocky tors, with views overlooking the Burrator Reservoir.

Around this area the moorland ponies tend to gather, as nice as they be, it is best to NOT pay them attention, as they can bite, as they have learned, hanging around near the road, they may get fed. What is not considered is getting hit by a car.

Description of the walk

Start at the moorland parking area >>>

(S/E) Take care when crossing the road, and head south and west up to Sharpitor.

(1) Head southeast to Leather Tor; this tor may be more of a challenge to climb (2). To enjoy the view over Burrator, go off the app route southwest, to enjoy. Picking up the app route, head northwest, then west near the top of Peek Hill.

(3) (A) Look out for the remains of the underground bunker. Peek Hill to Sharpitor is across the ridge to Sharpitor (1), turning left and north down the hill to the pond. Handrail the road to the right and east back down the hill to (E).
