Description of the walk

Departure from the cave car park, on the edge of the D86 and the cemetery.

(S/E) Facing the cemetery, start uphill on the right, cross the street, then take the path opposite. After about 300 steps, you will reach a fork.

(1) Turn left, walking almost horizontally, and continue to the next fork, about ten metres after a metal staircase on the left (access to the Renard Cave).

(2) Make a quick return trip across the street to the entrance gate of the Grotte de Néron.

(2) On your return, take the path that climbs to the left and join the plateau. Ignore a faint path on the left and, at the next fork, climb left until you reach the Serre de Guercy viewpoint.

(3) Then return to the previous fork, turn left and begin a steep descent to the four-way intersection on the flat section at the pass.

(4) Continue straight ahead and, after a short climb, you will reach the Tour Penchée.

(5) After enjoying the view, return to the four-way intersection on the flat section.

(4) Turn left and rejoin the fork you passed earlier.

(1) Take the same path back down to the car park on the edge of the D86 (S/E).

There is an admission fee for the caves (€10 in 2025).
