Car park near Col des Ayes on the D479, about 150 m after the entrance to Chemin de Chalamand.
(S/E) Return to the pass and join theGR®42, which descends towards the Embroye stream via a path below the road. It joins the road after about 1.5 km.
(1) Follow it to the junction with the Route de la Seauve. Turn left towards La Seauve and continue to the Valette bridge.
(2) Just before the bridge, take the path on the right that leads into the forest. Follow it until you reach the Route de la Seauve at a place called Gatou.
(3) Turn left along the Route de la Seauve and follow it to the first junction. Turn right onto the path that climbs uphill and follow it to the signpost marked "Les Fauries".
(4) Turn right onto the path that descends towards L'Embroye. Stay on theGR® trail, keeping to the right at the crossroads, and after a left-hand bend followed by a right-hand bend, you will arrive at the Embroye stream.
(5) Ford the stream (see Practical Information) and climb up the path that passes below the hamlet of La Tour. Continue to the D279 road.
(6) Cross it and take the path that climbs opposite. Continue to Chemin des Bonnets de Lubac. Turn left, pass above the hamlet of Les Bonnets de Ladreyts and continue to the signpost "Les Bonnets de Ladreyt".
(7) Take the path opposite towards Les Illiers. At the fork, keep right and continue to the entrance to the hamlet.
(8) Turn right onto Chemin des Illiers (this is a tarmac section). Follow it to the junction with Route de Vernoux (signposted "Chemin des Illiers" at this point).
(9) Cross the Vernoux road and take the path that descends towards the Ruisseau des Ayes stream. At the stream, take the path that immediately climbs to the left and follow it until you reach the Col des Ayes car park (S/E).
