Description of the walk

Start at the car park on the dyke between Baye and Vaux ponds: coordinates 47°10'51.4"N 3°36'57.7"E

(S/E) From the car park, cross the dyke towards the holiday centre.

(1) Walk past the building, keeping it on your right, then when you reach the car park, take the path opposite which leads into the forest.

(2) At the fork, turn right and cross the dyke known as the “des usages” between the two ponds. Just as you leave the dyke, turn right onto the path through the woods. Pass through the wooden gate via the designated passage and continue along the path to the observatory.

(3) Then retrace your steps along the same route you took on the way there (S/E).

Set off to discover two magnificent engineering structures located in Nièvre in Burgundy: the Échelle de Sardy-les-Epiry on the Canal du Nivernais and the Rigole d'Yonne.
