A short trail (1 km) in the middle of a nature reserve allows you to discover two interesting things: how nature is rebuilding itself after the Lothar storm of 1999 without human intervention and how woodpeckers interact with trees.
Several variations of the route are available, including one that allows you to walk along the trail with a pushchair or wheelchair as it is made of wooden planks.
Hikers can continue on the Panoramarundweg trail or take other hikes a little further afield (by bus or car) in the Black Forest (including the Allerheiligen waterfalls).
