The Avrogne Bridge from Montcheutin

Park on Avenue Georges Clémenceau, D6, in Montcheutin.

Follow the yellow footpath markings no. 9.

(S/E) Leave the starting sign behind you and take the D6 towards the church until you reach it.

(1) Turn right onto Rue des Écoles. You will come to a crossroads with four directions.

(2) Take the farm track on the right, then enter the woods on a steep descent along a path carved into the rock. After a left-hand bend, you will reach the Calvaire des Fusillés.

(3) Take the path on the left to follow the Aire and then the Aisne rivers. You will arrive at the Pont d'Avrogne bridge.

(4) Gradually move away from the Aisne to follow the old railway line on the left. You will reach a T-junction.

(5) Turn left, then immediately right, pass a farm and reach the village of Vaux-lès-Mouron.

(6) Turn left towards the church. Follow the main road D215 until you reach the crossroads with the picnic area. Take the rural path to the left of the picnic area. Continue straight ahead until you reach the edge of a wood.

(7) Enter the woods, quickly exit them, and then reach a Y-shaped crossroads in the fields, at a place called Le Plat Pommier.

(8) Turn left and follow the path leading to a farm.

(9) Take this path to the right, then left 300 metres further on. Walk along this path until you reach the D6. Follow it to the left and you will come back to the crossroads you passed on the way to the centre of Montcheutin.

(1) Continue straight ahead on the D6, Avenue Georges Clémenceau, and return to the car park (S/E).
