Park in the church car park.
(S/E) From the church, follow the RD959 towards Le Cateau and, at no. 31, turn left up the narrow lane between the hedges.
(1) Take the small road on the right. It winds its way down to join the RD959, offering sweeping views of the rolling countryside between Cambrésis and Avesnois.
(2) At the Stop sign, head up to the right along the road – take care – then, at the town entrance sign, cross over to take the path up to the left. At the end, turn right and follow the path running alongside the pastures.
(3) Continue straight on at the first junction, then turn right into Rue de Forest and take the first left: Rue du Vieux Cimetière. At No. 3, turn left to pass through the turnstile and walk between two hedges of hawthorn. At the buildings, pass through another set of two turnstiles. Along the way, you’ll need to duck your head when passing under a farm bridge – be careful!
(4) At the junction, head right towards the forest. At the entrance to the state-owned forest, go through a turnstile and walk along the edge on the right.
(5) At the junction of the forest paths, turn right. Continue along the edge of the woodland and leave the forest at the Forest House. Cross the road carefully and take the lane lined with hedges opposite.
(6) Leave the forest again and follow the road to the right, Rue des Dragons. Pass Rue des Quiches on your left, cross the RD86 and take Petite Rue du Cateau opposite.
(1) At the bend, go down the lane on the right then turn right again onto the RD959 to reach the church at Pommereuil (S/E).
