Around Bazuel

Park in the car park at Place de Bazuel or nearby.

(S/E) With your back to the square, cross the Grande Rue at the pedestrian crossing, take Rue Créance opposite and ignore the streets on the right and left further on.

(1) Cross the railway bridge, turn left onto Rue Becqueriaux and ignore the path and trail on the right.

(2) At the three-way junction on Rue Becqueriaux, turn right and take the path. At the intersection with the^GR®® 655, take the path on the right, cross the footbridge and ignore the two paths on the left.

(3) At the junction with the D86, continue straight ahead towards the Bois l'Évêque national forest. Before the barrier, continue right on the path at the edge of the woods, follow the railway line and turn left to pass in front of the motocross track.

(4) At the intersection of the path, turn right, take the road and ignore the one on the left. At the intersection, turn left onto Rue de la Prière (Ors), which runs alongside the railway line.

(5) At the intersection with Rue des Tilleuls, turn right, cross the railway line and turn left onto Rue de la Louvière, leaving the GR®^®.

(6) At the three-way junction with Rue d'Ouies, turn right and follow this road to the bridge over the Sambre Canal at the Oise.

(7) Take the towpath on the right onto the^GR®® 122.

(8) Cross Avenue de la Groise (Catillon-sur-Sambre) at the pedestrian crossing, turn right then left onto Rue de la Sambre, and ignore the street on your right.

(9) At the intersection with Rue Pasteur, leave the^GR®® and turn right, ignoring the street on your right, and continue to the Grand Place.

(10) Turn right onto Rue Fénelon, pass the church on your right. At the intersection with Rue du Collège, turn left and continue to the end.

(11) At the intersection with Rue de Mazinghien, turn right. Cross the D643 at the pedestrian crossing on the right, turn left and follow the road along the shoulder. At the intersection with Route du Gard (D160), turn right and pass Malmaison.

(12) At the bend in the D160, turn left onto Chemin des Bœufs. At the intersection with Rue du Capitaine d'Arche, turn left and walk along the side of the road. Pass Le Cerisier and continue straight ahead along Rue d'Ors (Bazuel).

(13) Just after house No. 4 on Rue d'Ors, turn left onto Ruelle Saint-Maurice. At the Chapelle Saint-Maurice, continue along the path and cross the footbridge over the stream.

(14) At the intersection with Rue de Catillon, turn right, then at the intersection with Ruelle Flavie, turn left carefully. At the intersection with Rue de l'Église, turn right, stay on this street and you will arrive at the car park on the square (S/E).

The route is easy but not signposted, except for the GR®® markings^. The terrain is earth, grass and tarmac. Wear suitable footwear.
