Description of the walk

Start:Spout Force Waterfall car park. Grid ref. NY 181 255

(S/E) Exit the car park by taking the right path in front of you (North). Continue on this path for around 1.5 Km (with the forest on the left side below you) until seeing a path on your left hand side (the third one from the car park).

(1) Turn left and start going up. Turn right (East) on the path after crossing the river, cross again the river and stay on this path going up to Lord's Seat.

(2) At Lord's Seat, turn left to go down toward Broom Fell. At Broom Fell keep straight to reach the cairn then turn left on the path going down to Widow Hause. Keep on that path until Graystones.

(3) At Graystones turn left (South) to walk down towards the forest (this part is very steep). Once reaching the bottom, take left on the path that follows the river (on your right-hand side).

(4) At the bridge continue straight to see Spout Force waterfall. Then retrace your steps to the bridge.

(4) Cross the bridge and continue straight on the path until reaching the car park (S/E).
