Saint-Michel-en-Grève from Locquémeau via the Falaises de Trédrez

In Locquémeau, park in the Kernénec district, east of the village, in a car park accessible via the Hent Krec'h ar Venno road, then Hent Kernénec or Hent Kirio. This car park is not signposted (and therefore often available when the car parks closer to the coast are full), so it is best to use a GPS or the Visorando app to find it.

Without signposting

(S/E) Return to the car park entrance (with your back to the cul-de-sac) and turn right into the one-way street (Hent Kirio). You will come to a busier street, Hent Krec'h ar Venno (street sign opposite). Pass two streets on your right and take the third, Hent Run ar Mor. Continue along this street, ignoring all side streets, until you reach the seafront, at a building on your right with a sign for Plage de Notigou.

Red and white^GR®®34markings

(1) Follow the^GR®® along the road, straight ahead. At a car park, the path branches off from the road, then rejoins it by turning left. Follow it to the right and you will come to a T-junction, opposite a road sign indicating Falaises de Trédrez.

(2) Take the road on the right, Route du Port / Hent ar Porz, and follow it straight ahead until you reach the beach. Continue straight ahead, along the road or on the beach, until you reach the sailing school. Just before the school building, on the left side of the road, turn left onto a path. You will soon reach another beach; follow it on your left.

(3) At the end of the beach, the coastal path begins to climb above the rocks of the coast.

(4) Ignore a path leading off to the left.

(5) Further on, ignore another path branching off to the left.

(6) At a small copse, ignore the path climbing up to the left. Continue straight ahead at another copse. You will arrive at Beg ar Forn, which marks the northern end of Grève de Saint-Michel.

(7) Keep to the coastal path until you reach the beach car park.

No signposts

(8) For a round trip, continue straight ahead along the beach and visit the small village of Saint-Michel-en-Grève. (At high tide, follow the^GR®® along the road.) Then retrace your steps.

(8) Go back up the access road to the car park, pass the cul-de-sac on your left and the road on your right (towards the village, follow^{the GR®®} at high tide). Then turn left onto Hent Kerouguel. Further on, ignore the Impasse de la Lieue de Grève on your right and continue along the road for another 150 m.

(9) Turn right onto a path signposted Le Rest. Cross a road and continue on the road opposite. Pass a few houses after Le Rest, then at the signposts, follow the path on the left (towards Falaises de Trédrez, among other things). You will arrive on a street in Trédrez.

(10) Continue straight ahead, then turn right at the intersection towards the church. Go around the church and its cemetery on the right, leaving a street on your right, then turn left at the intersection onto Hent an Aotrou Gonideg, towards Locquémeau. At the end of the street, continue along the path. Further on, ignore a path on the left and continue to a T-junction.

(11) Continue towards Locquémeau on the right, then at the fork 100 m further on, keep left. You will come to a road at a place called Kersalic Braz. Follow it to the left, then at the nearby intersection, continue to the right (towards Lann Charlez). Further on, ignore a road on the left and you will arrive at the hamlet of Kerham Huellan.

(12) Take the road on the left towards Locquémeau. At the next intersection, turn left onto the path and, about 30 metres further on, after the last houses, take the path on the right.

(13) At a fork in the path, turn left (you can continue straight ahead), then immediately right. You will come to the end of a carriageway. Follow it until you reach a road.

No signposts

(14) Leave the yellow signpost that branches off to the left and continue right on the road. At the next intersection, with the hamlet of Kerham Izellan on your right, follow the road to the left. It descends and joins an intersection. At the stop sign, take the main road to the left and return to an intersection you passed on the way there.

(2) Follow the road to the right (signposted Pointe du Dournen, among other things) in the opposite direction to the outward journey to return to Notigou Beach.

(1) At the stone bench, just before the beach building, go down to the beach on the left and follow it to the right. At high tide, it may be necessary to continue to the next road on the left to rejoin the^GR®® and continue to the point.

Red and white markings for^{the GR®®34}

At the end of the beach, continue along the coastal path, marked by the^GR®®34. You will arrive at Pointe du Dourven/an Dourven.

(15) Continue along the coastal path, along the mouth of the Léguer.

No markings

Further on, at the intersection, follow the path on the right. At the fork, turn right to return to the car park (S/E).

Moderate hike with lots of small climbs and descents on the coastal path. Standard hiking gear.
Some detours at high tide.
