This route allows you to discover the springs of the Moulin Marquis, the Grotte des Gaulois and the Porte du Diable, a natural limestone arch.

The Pas de la Sambue and Château Julien, in the heart of the Vercors
After crossing the Herbouilly plain, this circuit climbs up to the Pas de la Sambue and then joins the Château Julien plateau via the Malaterre karstic cave. Nestled in the heart of the northern Vercors, it offers a glimpse of a key site of the Resistance and the karstic landscape of the Vercors. Superb view from the Château Julien viewpoint.
Above the Bourne via the Rochers du Ranc and the Goulandière
This wide circular loop combines several routes: first the “Au Fil de la Bourne” path, which runs along the valley floor from the Cirque du Bournillon, then the climb to the popular Goulandière cliff, from where you head towards the plateau of the Forêt des Coulmes. A visit to the sites and old hamlets of this forest precedes a steep descent via the Pas du Ranc down to the Charanche road.
The Virgin of Vercors
A walk, rather than a hike, through the Herbouilly forest to a distinctive rock, the Vierge du Vercors.
Pas de l'Allier route from Le Briac
Easy hike that can be done on foot or with snowshoes in winter.

Valchevrière, evoking the Resistance in Le Vercors
A very short walk, but the ruins of Valchevrière are the remains of one of the key sites of the Resistance in Vercors.
This hamlet served as a camp for the Resistance fighters and was burned to the ground on 23 July 1944 by the Nazis. Only the chapel was spared.
Allow 1 to 1½ hours for the visit to the hamlet.
The Tour des Cournouze
Passing through the Pas de l'Allier and Pas des Voutes, this is a pleasant route in the Vercors Drômois.
Hike not possible at present: Closure by municipal decree of the Pas de l'Allier trail (Echevis commune)
Belvédère du Ranc, Balme Riendre and the ruins of La Goulandière
A short, easy hike with little elevation gain, suitable for families, which takes you through three beautiful sites. The Ranc viewpoint, with a view of the Bourne valley and the southern peaks of the Vercors, the Balme Riendre, a chasm with a beautiful stone arch, and finally, the ruins of the hamlet of La Goulandière.
La Goulandière from La Balme de Rencurel
This hike offers superb views of the Bourne Gorges. The trails are very well maintained and easily accessible. A picnic at Banc du Ranc is a must! The village of La Goulandière is also worth a visit.
The Vierge du Vercors via the Pas de Saint-Martin
A walk of discovery from Vercors in a loop between the cliffs, forest and meadow. Small height change.
The Crêtes Trail starting from the Herbouilly Nordic Area
The trail starts in the forest and follows a path along wooded ridges with stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The spirit of Jack London and White Fang is never far away as you gaze out over the vast expanse of the Hauts Plateaux and the nature reserve. Enjoy a magnificent snowshoe hike in the magical world of the Vercors forest.
La Sambue
This challenging hike takes you through a forest of beech and spruce trees. The trail crosses the remarkable Herbouilly lawn. During the descent from Sambue, we spotted a deer. There are beautiful views of the Saint-Martin valley, the Font d'Urle plateau and the Grande Moucherolle, and don't miss the Vierge du Vercors.
The Herbouilly plain, starting from the Herbouilly Nordic Centre
A wonderful way to explore this site via its forest trails, sun-drenched meadows and breathtaking viewpoints. It’s an opportunity to push your boundaries. First, with the engraved stone marker that has marked the boundary between the territories of the Lord of Sassenage and the Bishop of Die since the early 17th century. Then, with a little extra effort, you can reach the boundary between the Drôme and the Isère on a round trip to the Col d’Herbouilly (alternative route: +2 hours return).
The summit of the Gorges de la Bourne via the Pas des Rages
Starting from Basse-Valette, the Pas des Rages provides access to the top of the cliffs of the Bourne Gorges. The path then runs along the cliff, offering magnificent views of the gorges and allowing you to discover the Balme Noire cave. In addition to the walk, access to the starting point is via the Bourne Gorges road, one of the most beautiful in the Vercors.
