Description of the walk

Departure from Saint-Martin-en-Vercors. Car park at the southern exit of the town. The departure point is in the centre of the village, at Place du Tilleul de Sully.

(S/E) From Place du Tilleul, take Chemin des Écoliers and follow the path that branches off to the right. This forest path winds its way uphill.

(1) Continue along the well-marked forest path that branches off to the right.

(2) Continue along the road opposite the exit from the forest path (signposted "Pas de l'Allier"). Take the road on the right at the first intersection, then left at the next one, and continue along the road until you reach a hairpin bend.

(3) Turn right onto Chemin du Château du Chêne Vert and continue straight ahead on the path when the road branches off to the right.

(4) Take the path that branches off to the left under the tall trees (mountain bike signpost visible) and continue along this path, which quickly returns to the shade of the forest.

(5) Continue along the path that climbs to the left, following the "Pas de l'Allier" signs.

(6) At the fork, take the path on the right that descends (signposted "Pas des Voutes").

(7) When you reach the forest road (GRP® signpost), turn left.

(8) When you reach the first viewpoint at the top of the cliffs, turn right onto the path signposted Pas des Voûtes.

(9) Pass Le Bienveilleur du Bournillon. Enjoy the various viewpoints over the Bourne valley.

(10) When you reach the forest road, turn left downhill and follow the signs for "Pas de l'Allier".

(11) Continue to the right at this intersection, towards "Pas de l'Allier".

(12) When you reach Pas de l'Allier, take the path opposite to go to the viewpoint. Superb view of the Isère valley in the distance. Retrace your steps.

(12) Continue on the right.

(13) At the intersection, turn right towards "Saint-Martin-en-Vercors" and "Sandron".

(14) Cross the D612 with caution and take the path that climbs up opposite towards Saint-Martin.

(15) Turn right onto the road towards "Les Menuisiers".

(16) At this intersection, a very steep road continues straight ahead, turning slightly to the left. Do not take this road; instead, take the path that branches off to the left.

(17) Continue towards "Les Menuisiers" at this intersection.

(18) Once you reach the road, turn left towards Saint-Martin and you will arrive directly at Place du Tilleul de Sully (S/E).
