Park in the centre of Felletin, on Grande Rue.

(S/E) At the bottom of the Grande Rue, take Rue Chanteloube; at the first junction, turn right onto Rue Quinault, then take the second right onto Rue des Tours de la Boule, which very quickly turns into a footpath. Follow this path straight on. Pass the last small house and continue for about 300 metres.
(1) Leave the track and turn right towards the hamlet of La Faye. The path leads onto a small road. Turn right and follow the road until the second bend.
(2) Take the path on the left which runs alongside the River Creuse. The path descends towards La Déjoune.
(3) Cross via the ‘plank bridge’ (made of stone), typical of the region. Continue along the path, which leads onto a road. Cross the road and take the path opposite.
(4) At the first junction, carry on straight ahead, keeping slightly to the left. Continue to the hamlet of Fressanges. Turn left onto the small road (this road only serves the hamlet and is very quiet) and walk through the hamlet.
(5) At the penultimate house in the hamlet, follow the path to the right and continue to a T-junction. Turn left towards the road (D23).
(6) Cross the road and continue along the track opposite. Follow the track downhill to another road, running more or less alongside a deeply incised stream.
(7) Turn right onto the D93, which overlooks La Déjoune, and follow the road for 600 metres.
(8) On the left as you head downhill, a ford allows you to cross La Déjoune. It consists of a large beam with a handrail to hold on to: more impressive than difficult. Then head back up the track.
(9) At the T-junction, turn right towards the hamlet of Sannebèche. In the hamlet, take the road on the left and follow it to the hamlet of Villedeau. Walk through the hamlet, staying on the road for 150 metres until you reach a very sharp bend.
(10) Take the path on the left and head downhill alongside the stream. At the bottom, continue along the path, following the course of La Déjoune. Cross the river via a footbridge.
(11) Just after the footbridge, take the track on the right, cross a second footbridge and follow the track up alongside the stream towards the hamlet of Bas-Bouteix. Almost at the top of the track, you’ll see the castle tower, then the castle itself. At the crossroads, turn left – the route does not go past the castle. Then turn right into a narrow street between two houses. Follow this small road for about a hundred metres.
(12) Take the track on the left, alongside a small wooden farm building. Carry on straight ahead until you reach the road (D10).
(13) Cross it and head straight down the path opposite. The path leads onto another road. Turn left and follow it for 100 metres. At the next Y-junction, take the road on the right and continue for 500 metres. You’ll reach a wide bend in the road, just before a stone bench.
(14) Take the path on the left. This path leads down towards Felletin. At the end of the path, turn right, then immediately left. At the end of this street, turn left down Rue de Beaumont. At the first junction, turn into Rue Reby Lagrange. At the next junction, look out for a narrow passageway on the right. Take it to the left, pass under the archway to emerge onto Grande-Rue. Turn left to return to the starting point (S/E).
