(S) From the Albergo Elvezia, head south on Via Cantonale until the first intersection on the left.
(1) Turn left onto Via ai Ronchi, go under the railway line through a small tunnel and continue south on the other side of the railway line.
(2) Follow the railway line along Via ai Ronchi, which then becomes Via Nadelli. Continue to the Bironico post office at the junction of Via Ceneri and Via Arbustelli.
(3) Continuing south, follow Via Arbustelli, then Via Retagn to reach a bridge over the Vedeggio stream.
(4) Cross the bridge where a sign indicates several directions and follow "Gola di Lago". Pass in front of the church of SS Pietro e Paolo. At the car park, take the left-hand road (signposted Via Biscossa - Zanetti).
(5) Enter the cul-de-sac on the left where the trail begins, about 50 metres further on. Begin the fairly steep climb to Busio.
(6) At the crossroads, take the winding path on the right to reach Alpe Santa Maria di Lago. Continue to a small car park at a crossroads.
(7) Follow the signs for Gola di Lago.
(8) At Gola di Lago, leave the path on the left that leads to Isone. Continue eastwards and arrive at the small hamlet of Zalto.
(9) Head south-east towards Davra and Pichetta and you will come to another crossroads at Pian Passamonte.
(10) Stay on the left-hand path, pass a bunker (Fortino Davrosio) and return to Davrosio.
(11) Head south and reach the Motto della Croce viewpoint, which offers a magnificent view of Lake Maggiore.
(12) Enjoy a panoramic break at the foot of the cross. Heading north-east, take a small road in a hairpin bend.
(13) Continue along this road to the Capanna del Monte Bar (E).
