(1) Take left to walk under the train line and continue straight on Walls Drive.

(2) Pass the houses and turn right after them (Walls cottage should be on your right hand side). Continue straight on the road until seeing a small path entering the wood (just before Newton Farm).

Pass the stile, then go left for a few meters before taking right (North-East) to walk across the field towards the gate in the dry stone wall of Muncaster Castle. Path is not really visible on the ground. Pass the gate to enter Muncaster Castle Estate and go straight on the path until reaching a concrete road. Take left and continue walking towards the main gate/entrance of Muncaster Castle Estate.

(4) Exit the ground of Muncaster Castle Estate at the main gate and left on the Esk trail path (path passes between fenced fields). Continue on the Esk trail path that follows Swine Gill until reaching a road.

(5) Take right on the road and continue straight until reaching another road.

(2) Take right on Walls Drive road and continue straight until reaching the campsite (passing by the Roman Bath). Just after the campsite and before the road, turn left on the footpath and continue straight until reaching the bridge above the train line.

(6) If the bridge is opened pass the bridge and continue straight to arrive at the car park. If the bridge is closed turn right to walk down towards Ravenglass train station. Cross the ground of the Railway museum and continue straight until reaching the main road. Turn left on the main road, walk under the bridge and continue straight until seeing Croftlands Drive.
