Description of the walk

The route starts from the village car park. The route is signposted with yellow arrows on a green background.

(S/E) Walk downhill through the Jouanny housing estate. At the end of the road, turn right and follow the road.

(1) At a place called Kerbrido, turn right and take the first path on the left. Walk along the edge of the field and, at the far end, turn left. Pass under a high-voltage power line twice; the path leads onto a road at Coz Castel.

(2) Turn left, then right at the junction. When you reach the D65, turn right and, 100 metres further on, turn left towards Kerlastr, just before the wayside cross. After this hamlet, at the crossroads, carry straight on, cutting across a road.

(3) At the hamlet of Guivano, take the path on the left. After a fairly steep climb, follow the road to the right to reach Rozanbic. Continue straight on to Kerverzot.

(4) In this hamlet, turn left and follow the road.

(5) Take the track on the right just before reaching Kergroas and turn right again 100 metres further on. The track leads onto a road. Turn right and, 50 metres further on, take the track on the left which leads onto a road at the hamlet of Toul ar Quiz, which you must cross.

(6) Take the first path on the left. Pass a road on your right and, 100 metres further on, turn onto the path on the left.

(7) When you reach the hamlet of Planconiat, take the forest track on the left. It leads onto a road; follow this to the right for 50 metres, then turn right. You’ll very quickly come to another road, which you should take, continuing straight ahead.

(8) Then take the track on the right, which bends left a little further on to join a road. Turn left towards Poull-Glaou.

(9) At the junction, turn right and follow the stream to Chemin Étoile.

(10) Turn left, then right at the junction to join the D65.

(11) Turn right and then immediately left onto the D65B.

You’ll reach the village of Quemperven; pass the school on your left and head for the car park (S/E).

With the Visorando app, it's easy to follow the route. There are lots of beautiful paths on this route. Some sections are muddy, which is normal in early January, but you'll need good, waterproof footwear.

The track starts off well and is very well maintained between points 1 and 2. However, at point 3, the ‘path to the left’ could not be found and was not signposted. After point 5, the path disappeared beneath the vegetation and the sunken track became impassable due to thick mud (even after a spell of dry weather), so we were forced to walk across the meadows alongside it. After St Maudez, the signposted track does not reach point 6 but follows the direction of the short-distance hiking trail marked on the IGN map.
Finally, after point 9, the path round the wash house is completely submerged in water (poor drainage).
It’s a shame, because the route is ‘very good’!
