Park in a car park near the Perdrix cable car station, which you’ll use to reach the starting point of this route.
(S/E) As you exit the cable cars, turn left onto the wooden staircase leading up from the Puy de la Perdrix. Along the way, you’ll pass a south-facing orientation board, whilst a north-facing orientation board is situated at the summit of the Puy de la Perdrix.
(1). Continue until you reach a wide path, which you’ll follow to the right. At the pass where two ski-lift arrival points are situated, carry on straight ahead and cross over to the other side of the slope. You’ll then reach the Col de la Cabanne, at the foot of the Puy de Sancy.
(2) Reach the summit via the path that winds its way up, clearly visible from the pass.
(3) Descend via the wooden steps on the other side to the top station of the Mont Dore cable car.
(4) Take the track, then the path that leads back down below the Puy de Sancy. Pass under a ski lift and return to the Col de la Cabanne.
(2) Return to the Super-Besse gondola lift top station (S/E), where you can take the gondola back to the Super-Besse car park.
