The hike starts on the Route Stratégique, against the castle wall in Saulxures-lès-Nancy, accessible from Avenue du Château. Parking is available against the castle wall.
(S/E) With your back to the castle wall, turn right, pass in front of the Christ on the Cross and continue to the Y-junction.
(1) Take the Haut des Vignes path on the left, passing in front of the water tower. Reach the car park and, at the bottom of the hill, take a track on the right, which is the Bois de Pulnoy communal path, marked with green round signs. Pass the anti-car barrier and reach the crossroads after the basketball court.
(2) Turn left onto the tarmac path. Cross Rue de la Vervaux and continue straight on Rue du Tir, passing the water tower and walking alongside Square des Droits de l'Homme. You will reach the junction with the D2B (Rue de Saulxures).
(3) Turn right and follow the street, ignoring the adjacent streets. Pass in front of the Church of Saint-Quentin, then turn left to reach Rue de la République. Turn right onto this street, heading towards Seichamps until you reach the stop sign.
(4) Follow Rue de Seichamps to the left, taking the left-hand pavement (the right-hand pavement is blocked by cars). Continue to the traffic lights at the large crossroads.
(5) Cross to the right and then to the left (pedestrian crossings) to cross Route de Cerville, and continue straight ahead on the cycle path along Route de Seichamps until you reach the roundabout next to Jardin Roussel (on your left).
(6) Stay on the cycle path, turning slightly to the right, and go up Avenue de la Vanoise to the end, opposite the stop sign.
(7) Cross the avenue (pedestrian crossing) and turn left onto Route de Voirincourt. It ends at the stop sign before Grande Rue.
(8) Turn right onto Grande Rue and continue until you reach Saint Lambert Church.
(9) Turn left, passing in front of the church (on your right). At the end of the street, after the right-hand bend, turn left onto Rue Saint Lambert, continue along Avenue du Québec and arrive at the X-shaped intersection with Avenue de l'Europre.
(10) Follow it to the left and, at the beginning of Place François Mitterrand, take a path on the right to pass by the side of the Socio-Cultural Centre, then enter Parc Robert Schuman. In the centre of the park, turn left to exit Avenue des Heilleux, follow it to the right until the end.
(11) Turn right, at the roundabout take Route des Tilles on the left to the end (about 300 m).
(12) Take Rue des Tarbes Prolongés on the left. At the roundabout, continue straight on Rue des Tarbes, pass one street on the left, then, near the shopping area, turn 90° to the small roundabout.
(13) Turn right onto Rue des Maillys. At the next large roundabout, continue straight ahead onto Rue des Longues Raies to arrive near the road bridge.
(14) Just before, turn left onto the cycle path. At the next roundabout, continue straight ahead on the cycle path along the M674. Cross the two lanes of Route de Puilnoy (pedestrian crossings) and continue to the next roundabout, then cross the two lanes of Route de Saulxures (M674h).
(15) Turn left onto the cycle path until you reach the crossroads before the right-hand bend.
(16) In the bend, take the street on the right and, at the bottom of the hill, turn left onto Rue de Tomblaine for a few dozen metres.
(17) Turn right onto the gravel track, join and climb Rue Maria Deraimes, then continue along Rue de Gascogne, ignoring all the side streets. At the top of the hill, you will arrive at the crossroads at the exit of Tomblaine.
(18) Turn left onto Rue de la Forêt, continue straight ahead at the stop sign along the edge of the forest, then take the 90° turn, go down Rue des Sables and join Rue de Lorraine.
(19) Follow it to the right for about a hundred metres.
(20) At the crossroads, continue left onto Route de Bosserville, which turns right and then left to reach Grande Rue.
(21) Follow it to the right, pass in front of Saint-Martin Church and continue along Avenue du Château. Pass in front of the small square with the calvary and, at the corner of the castle wall, turn right onto Route Stratégique to reach the car park (S/E).
