Park in the castle car park.
(S/E) Take Rue du Carlit to reach Place de l'Horloge. Go down Rue de la Place to the crossroads, cross Rue du Vésinat and take the tarmac path heading south. There is no sign, but this is Chemin de Rodès: there are arrows pointing to a llama farm.
(1) 200 metres further down, at the junction with a white concrete calvary topped with a cross, turn left. The tarmac disappears and you must stay on the same track, heading south then south-west, ignoring a first turn-off on the left (elevation 444) and another on the right (elevation 430).
(2) Leave the track for a less well-marked path on the left and descend to pass in front of a field of olive trees, then rejoin the track you left earlier at an almond tree field.
(3) Turn left onto the track, which quickly makes a sharp right turn. Go around a small peak and arrive at the foot of Puig Pedrous.
(4) Follow the track to the left for a few metres, then leave it and take a gully path on the right that goes around Puig Pedrous.
(5) Turn right (south) and then right again after about 200 metres to climb Puig Pedrous.
(6) Search around the top to find the boundary marker, a reference to the Treaty of the Pyrenees. Then descend via a narrow path that leads directly back to the fork at the foot of the peak.
(4) Do not follow the wide track used on the way up, but take a small, eroded path downhill to the left. Cross the Correc de Bellagre (or Vallagra) and climb back up to a track at Bosc Negre.
(7) Turn right downhill and then climb back up.
(8) Leave a track on the right and continue straight ahead.
(1) Continue to the left and retrace your steps to return to the castle car park (S/E).
