The hike starts at the Rue Nova de la Conquilla car park in Rodès.
(S/E) Head north, crossing the old village to reach the small road bridge over the Têt.
(1) Take a short walk across the road bridge to enjoy the view, then retrace your steps and take the well-marked path heading north-east, which follows the Gorges de la Guillera.
Take the path along the canal, which offers several nice views of the opposite slope and the riverbed, which it overlooks from a height of about 20 metres. Note the old Pont Aqueduc d'en Laba aqueduct bridge on the left.
Cross the canal on a small footbridge when the path is blocked.
(2) Take the small path climbing to the right, towards the castle, and continue climbing through the heath until you approach the ridge where the path crosses a track.
(3) Head right to reach the castle ruins.
(4) Note: this castle is not spectacular but is still worth a short detour and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area.
Caution: The path along the castle is a little uneven but passable for experienced walkers.
Alternative: the path continues downhill and leads directly to the village, but it is slightly uneven with a few high steps to negotiate.
Turn back to the previous crossroads.
(3) Turn right and head south until you reach a cairn/can.
(5) Turn right to reach the village and the car park on Rue Nova (S/E).
