Walk to the national forest in Tourrettes

During this hike, you will discover the restored old Boudoura wash house and the ruins of the Moulin Brûlé mill, now disused. The forest is bordered to the north by the Siagnole, to the south by the Camiole, and to the west by the Chautard: so much water! To the north of the Tuilerie or Tuilière plateau and Lavagne lies the Tourrettes State Forest, criss-crossed by numerous underground and above-ground canals and aqueducts, dotted with manholes and water catchments: the Acates, the Jas Neuf, Fontanouille, and Font-Bouillen.

Description of the walk

In the village, park at the Boudoura car park, below the church.

(S/E) From the Boudoura car park, walk up to the wash house.

(1) Go up to the right along a small tarmac road called Chemin de la Tuilière.

(2) Pass the Pont du Chautard bridge. At the crossroads, stay on Chemin de la Tuilière and take the second road on the left.

(3) At the crossroads, stay on Chemin de la Tuilière, which branches off to the right. Reach the plateau and turn right onto Chemin de Lavagne. Continue along this road until you reach a three-way junction with a fire hydrant and post box no. 705.

(4) Turn left to reach the forest track, which you should take to the right. Pass in front of the Fontaine Talent (named after the former mayor of Tourrettes).

(5) At the crossroads of the main tracks (Velnasques marker), continue right on a dirt track that ends at a tarmac road. At the start of the tarmac road, take the path straight ahead (at a large oak tree on the right). Take the path that runs alongside several houses and ends at a small tarmac road. At the end of the path, turn left and you will find yourself on a tarmac road called Chemin du Vieux Moulin.

(6) Continue on the right along Chemin du Vieux Moulin. Descend to the left towards Le Chautard and the ruins of Le Vieux Moulin, cross the first stone bridge and continue uphill. Before the bridge with metal barriers, take the road on the right and finish with a very steep 100-metre climb, staying on the tarmac road.

(7) Cross the cemetery bridge and turn right to the car park (S/E).

A rather pleasant walk, shaded and without any particular difficulties. However, it is of limited interest: the route follows mainly fairly busy tarmac roads; few views ...
