Follow the red diamond markers.
(S/E) With your back to Modave Castle, head towards the wooded lane and follow it for about 50 metres.
(1) At the signpost, turn right and walk along the stone wall of the castle. Stay on the main path, which branches off to the right. Then turn and gradually descend into the heart of the nature reserve.
(2) At the bottom of the path, at the T-junction, turn right (small road). Further on, on your left, you will see the reserve guard's house (the only one remaining). Ignore a road on your left and continue to the ford.
(3) Cross the Petit Modave via the footbridge or wade across (if the weather is warm). Then turn left (small road) and cross the Ruisseau de Pailhe.
(4) Take the second path on your right (red diamond marker). The path climbs uphill through woodland. Keep heading south-south-east.
(5) At the end of the path, turn left (road). After two successive hairpin bends, you will reach the Tibiémont ford.
(6) Cross the Petit Modave again and continue along the road until you reach a T-junction. Turn left at an acute angle. At the Ferme de Survillers (old water mill), turn right. Stay on the main path and cross pastures and wooded areas.
(7) At the T-junction, turn left at an acute angle. After about 100 metres, follow the road to the right. After passing the cemetery, continue along the N641 road.
(8) At the next intersection, turn left until you reach the wooded driveway of the castle.
(1) Follow this road straight ahead until you reach your starting point (S/E).

Very pleasant walk, even in winter.
