Walk in Belalp

To get to Belalp by public transport:

• Take the train to Brig (VS.)
• Take bus 604 to Blatten bei Naters, Luftseilbahn.
• Take the cable car at Blatten bei Naters (Belalpbahn).

The start of this hike is at the Hamilton Lodge Hotel.

(S/E) From the hotel, heading west, take the path that passes near the top station of the Chiematta chairlift. Walk along the foot of the Grisihorn and join the Chelchbach torrent.

(1) Leave the trail that leads to Foggenhorn. Head south, then take a curve to enter the old village.

(2) Turn left and walk between the typical chalets of Unner Staful, Chrizji and Bielti.

(3) Turn left and climb up to the small road to Bäll. You will come to a crossroads.

(4) Continue straight ahead, passing a barn. Follow a small path to an intersection at an altitude of 2,048 metres. Turn left towards the upper station of the Belalp cable car.

(5) Turn left towards the new village and follow the Sattle path that winds its way between the residential chalets of Belalp. Descend to the track that leads to the Hamilton Lodge Hotel (S/E).
