The starting point is the “Belcodène La Poste” stop in the heart of the village of Belcodène. It can be reached by the on-demand bus in Zone 3, which must be booked in advance for both the outward and return journeys.
It can also be reached by car. There is a large car park opposite the post office.
(S/E) With your back to the post office, take the road on the right as you go downhill, then, at the crossroads, turn right onto the road that goes uphill. At the next crossroads, continue straight on along the Chemin des Michels.
(1) At the fork, turn left onto Chemin de la Gorgue. It is also possible to take a path that runs alongside the road about fifteen metres to the right. This path goes through the forest and joins the road a little further on.
Continue straight on. Pass a gate next to a marker marked RE100.
(2) You will come to a cistern marked 607. Just before this, take the track that descends to the right. Ignore a path that heads uphill to the left. Also ignore a track coming from the right. Stay on the main path until you see red and yellow markings. Beautiful view of Sainte-Victoire.
(3) You will cross a track marked with red and yellow. Follow it uphill to the left. At the next junction, keep to the right and continue following the red and yellow markings.
(4) You’ll reach a wide track; take it to the left, still following the red and yellow markings.
(5) Stop following the red and yellow markings when they leave the main track and head off to the right. Continue along this main track. Beautiful view of the Étoile massif.
You will come to the water tank marked 607.
(2) Continue straight on along the track as it climbs. Pass the barrier with marker RE100.
(1) As you leave the Chemin de la Gorgue, take the road on the right as it climbs. After passing a pass, head straight down to a crossroads and turn left, climbing up Avenue de Sainte-Victoire to the “Belcodène La Poste” stop on the on-demand bus service (S/E).
