The hike starts at the car park at the Cave locks, Rue de l'Île Saint-Pierre in Bois-le-Roi.

(S/E) Cross the Seine via the footbridge and turn right onto the right bank.
(1). Follow the path to Quai du Maréchal Leclerc, where you turn left onto Rue de la Chevalerie.
(2) Go under the railway bridge and turn right onto the steeply ascending path.
(3) Continue along this path, which runs along the edge of the cliff for 1.5 km until you reach the crossroads.
(4) Turn left onto a paved road (Rue du Champ Fleuri) and turn right. Continue along Rue des Plantes, then Rue Curie. Turn right onto Rue des Grillons and right again onto Route de Massoury.
Cross the level crossing, then the bridge over the Seine.

(5) At the end of the bridge, go down the steps on the left at the bank of the Seine and follow the path along the water's edge, heading upstream. A little further on, you will find theGR® signposts again.

Continue along the path by the water's edge until you reach a campsite, where theGR® turns right.

(6) Continue straight ahead on the path along the Seine.
You will reach the quay at the Samois-sur-Seine lock.
You will findGR® markings at the entrance to the footbridge that leads to Île du Berceau.

(7) Go to Île du Berceau. This is a very pleasant spot for a picnic and the view of the village of Héricy opposite is beautiful.
Retrace your steps, cross the footbridge again and turn left onto Rue du Bas Samois
TheGR® turns right onto Rue Fouquet.

(8) Continue straight ahead along Rue du Coin Muzard, then follow Avenue de la Libération to the cemetery where Django Reinhardt's grave is located.
(9) Cross the cemetery and continue left on Avenue de la Libération for about 100 metres. After passing a car park and a playground on your left (which can also be accessed via steps on an embankment), you will come to an embankment with a few steps. Turn left onto the forest track that climbs into the forest.
(10) Two hundred metres further on, at the crossroads, you will find a path marked in yellow and blue.

(11) Keep right on this path. It is very winding and hilly.
You will pass under the railway line near a bus stop, cross the D116, then the D138.
You will arrive at a junction with the Route de l'Hexagone marked GR®.

(12) Turn right onto Route de l'Hexagone and follow theGR® markings, which take you left onto Route du Cerf, then right onto Route du Daguet and finally left onto Route des Ecouettes until you reach the junction with Route de la Butte Saint-Louis, which you take to the right.

(13) Follow this road until it joins the D138.
(14) Cross and continue straight ahead on Rue de la République. At the next intersection, turn left onto Rue Désiré Bourgoin, then continue on Rue Guido Sigriste. At the end of this street, near the railway line, turn left onto Rue Louis Noir, which turns right. Go under the railway bridge and turn left onto Rue de Verdun, then right onto Rue des Écoles.
At the intersection, cross and continue along Rue de la Chapelle.
(15) At the cemetery, turn left onto Rue Auguste Frot and, at the end, continue along Rue François Aussavis, which will take you to the car park (S/E).
