Start the hike at Bois-le-Roi station (RER line R).

(S) From the station, walk along the square on the left and take Rue de la Paix opposite. When you reach Rue Pasteur, follow it to the left and then turn right onto Chemin des Couleurs. At the crossroads, go straight ahead and join the D138.
(1) Cross the road very carefully before turning left at the crossroads onto Route des Ventes. Then go straight ahead at the next two crossroads. Leave a path on your left and continue to the paved Route du Pavé de la Cave. Go up this road on the right and reach the D606.
(2) Cross this very carefully to take the Route du Vallon de Chailly in Samois opposite. Pass a junction with the Route des Vieux Rayons. Pass another junction to reach the Carrefour des Longues Vallées.

(3) Return to the junction.

Cross the departmental road carefully and continue straight ahead. Go straight ahead at the four-way crossroads. At the Y junction, keep left and reach a junction with the Route des Monts.
(4) Turn left onto this road, which is flat at first and then climbs. Pass a path on your right and keep left at the Y junction. The IGN maps are out of date at this point. Follow the GPS route carefully. Reach the top of the hill.
(5) Turn right, then left and reach the Carrefour du Cabinet de Monseigneur.
(6) Stay opposite on the Route des Monts. At the Carrefour du Vautrait, go straight ahead to the end, on the Route Tournante du Cuvier.
(7) Turn sharply right. Then pass a discreet path on the left and take the next one, coming from the same side. Then turn quickly right and arrive at a fork at the bottom of the descent.
(8) Leave the two branches on the left. A GPS is recommended on this section, which has numerous crossroads. Then climb slightly to ignore a discreet path on the right, then three others on the left and another on the right. At the next crossroads, turn right and you will reach a main path.
(9) Follow the path that climbs opposite. Leave a path on the right and continue to the top of the hill.
(10) Turn left, heading downhill, and pass a path that descends to the left to reach a fork on Route de la Solitude.
(11) Take this road on the left, downhill, which passes between imposing rocks. Continue to the departmental road.
(12) Go under the road and, in the car park opposite, go to the right-hand corner and turn left onto Route des Artistes. Ignore a discreet turn-off on the left and continue to a crossroads.
(13) Take the second right onto Allée des Vaches and then take the first left onto Route des Ventes Alexandre. Ignore all the junctions and continue straight ahead until you reach the stairs.
(14) Go up the stairs and ignore a path that goes down to the right. At the top, turn left onto the ridge. Follow the path to the Gorges d'Apremont viewpoint.
(15) Continue straight ahead. Then take a path on the right and then a four-way junction to reach a track.
(16) Climb this track and then immediately turn left onto the Route du Puits au Géant. Ignore the Route Tournante des Monts Girard and continue to the crossroads of the same name.
(17) Take the third path on the right and then continue straight ahead until you reach the road.
(18) Cross the road very carefully. Go straight ahead and enter the nature reserve. Keep going until you see the ruins of a church on your right. At the crossroads, with a view of these ruins, head towards them.
(19) Turn 90° to the left. At the bend in the track, stay on the path straight ahead. Turn left twice, then straight ahead at the third crossroads to reach the Route des Gorges de Franchard.
(20) Turn 90° to the right and ignore a path that branches off to the right, then two more junctions. Ignore the blue-marked path that starts on the right, another path on the left and then another on the right to reach a Y-junction. Stay on the gorge road by turning left. Further on, ignore two paths coming from the left and reach a third fork.
(21) Go up to the left and ignore the intersection. You will reach the Route du Long Boyau.
(22) Keep going straight. Leave the fork with the Route des Hautes Plaines and then keep right at the next one, on the Route des Semis. You will reach a crossroads with the same name.
(23) Go straight ahead onto Route de Cévise. Turn right, then left to reach a paved passage between the rocks.
(24) Follow the paved path to the end. Keep going until you reach the Aqueduc de la Vanne et du Loing. Then continue straight ahead until you reach the Carrefour de la Touche aux Mulets. Continue straight ahead, pass a crossroads and reach the Carrefour du Sapin Rouge.
(25) Turn right onto Route de Gibelotte. Ignore a four-way junction and then a path coming from the left, and cross an intersection towards a bend.
(26) Turn left, then left again. Then leave the path coming from the left before taking the next left to stay on the same road. Reach a junction near the Gorge aux Archers.
(27) Turn left into this gorge.
(28) Once at the bottom, turn right onto Chemin d'Arbonne and ignore a junction to reach a large track.
(29) Descend this track on the left until you reach the road.
(30) Continue on the path that starts opposite. Do not take the fork to the right or the next one to go up along the motorway. When you reach Chemin des Cassis, turn right until you reach the tunnel.
(31) Pass under the motorway and continue straight ahead at the fork to reach another one.
(32) Keep left before passing a crossroads coming from this side, then another four-way crossroads. Descend into a gorge and reach Sentier des 25 Bosses.
(33) Continue straight ahead. At the large fork, turn left and reach another crossroads.
(34) Descend Route de la Mée on the right and pass two forks to reach a very large crossroads with Chemin du Rocher des Potets.
(35) Go straight ahead, do not take the path on the left and keep right at the crossroads, before turning left five times. At the sixth crossroads, go straight ahead to reach a crossroads. Keep going straight ahead to reach the Route Forestière de la Mée at the end.
(36) Follow this road again, to the right, until you reach the street called "Chemin de Fontenelle".
(37) Continue straight ahead on this road. Then keep going until you reach the Vaudoué town hall, Place Pasteur and the Tagada mini-market (E).
