Description of the walk

(S/E) Start this walk at the Col de la Charbonnière car park. The path begins to the right of the road leading down towards Breitenbach/Villé.

(1) You enter the forest and follow a wide, vehicle-accessible forest track. It leads downhill; simply follow the markings. This is a circular walk, so you’ll continue to follow these markings throughout.

(2) Turn right and take the path that leads uphill.

(3) The track turns into a footpath. Walk alongside the road for about thirty metres and continue towards the Col de la Charbonnière, where the car park is located (S/E).

A short walk at the Col de la Charbonnière: the start is at a junction of several roads, so where you begin depends on where you arrive at the junction... for us, coming from Hohwald, the start of the path was on our left, not our right.
There were lots of very noisy motorbikes at this junction, the sound of which echoed through the mountains.
