Description of the walk

Park in the car park at the bottom of the village, to the left of the access road.

(S/E) Head up towards the village along the path that starts on the left, about a hundred metres past the car park, above a small building, and continues via steps leading out below the church. Walk part of the way round the village in a clockwise direction, passing beneath the castle, then, on the descent, turn left onto the Chemin de la Croix, which leads onto the Chemin du Pontillard.

(1) Continue straight on until you reach the start of the Chemin des Amandiers.

(2) Follow the Chemin des Amandiers to the right until you reach the Chemin de Saint-Bonnet (tarmac).

(3) Follow Chemin de Saint-Bonnet to the right until you reach the entrance to the cemetery and the Saint-Bonnet Chapel.

(4) Walk to the enchanting chapel and back.

(4) Continue along the Chemin de Saint-Bonnet to a crossroads and turn left onto the Chemin des Grands Chênes. Return to the car park by taking the road up to the village on the right (S/E).

Worth a visit

At the start of the route, you can linger in the picturesque narrow streets of the old village.

Beautiful views over a plain surrounded by nearby hills or more distant mountains. To the east, a view of the Col de la Chaudière and the Trois Becs.

After (3), a view to the right of the village of La Bâtie-Rolland (church and hill) and, as you approach, the hilltop village of Puygiron.

You can linger at the enchanting site of the Chapelle Saint-Bonnet.

There are some very beautiful trees, particularly along the Chemin des Grands Chênes.

A short family walk along quiet paths and roads. Very pleasant, with little elevation gain. Ideal for an afternoon stroll, whether on your own or with the family.
