Start from the car park at the school in Lainville-en-Vexin, situated along the D205 which runs through the village, on the left-hand side when approaching from Oinville-sur-Montcient.

(S/E) Head south and follow the D205 slightly downhill. Take thefirst right, towards the cemetery, and immediately turn right onto Chemin de la Côte Duché, which also leads downhill. Go round the wash house on the left to get a better view of it (you’ll need to leave the path briefly to do this). Head back uphill, alternating between wooded sections and paths running alongside gardens, fields or meadows.
(1) At the junction, carry on straight ahead and enter a woodland. At the next junction, turn sharply left and follow a narrow path through the undergrowth. You’ll emerge onto a wide path; follow it to the right, keeping a fence on your left. At the end, turn right, leaving the Place des Bonnes Joies on your left, and continue along the street of the same name.
(2) Just before the sign marking the hamlet’s exit, turn left onto the Chemin de Maigremont. Walk past a horse riding arena on your left and continue along the wide path through the woods, ignoring the side tracks. At a junction, carry on straight ahead between two hedges. You’ll reach the tarmac road at Maigremont. Ignore the first track on the right and pass an old metal water tank on the right-hand side.
(3) At the foot of a large building on the left and just before an electricity pole bearing a Yellow Cross, leave the road and turn right onto a path bordered by a hedge on the right-hand side. Enjoy the gentle descent along this good, grassy path.

(4) At the junction on the outskirts of Montalet-le-Bois, turn left onto a grassy track bordered by a hedge on the left. Head north-north-west, keeping the bell tower of Lainville church in sight. Walk downhill until you come out onto a small road, just before the D205: follow the small road to the left and keep parallel to the D205.
(5) At the junction, turn right onto Chemin des Noyers (tarmac). At the Stop sign, follow the D205 to the left and you’ll soon notice a cross with four arms on the embankment on your right. After the sign marking the entrance to the village, turn right onto Chemin des Menues Terres and walk past a handball stadium on your right.
(6) When you reach the entrance to the sports club, turn left onto the inconspicuous Sente de la Vallée (an uphill grassy path). Cross a narrow lane on the left and continue between two walls along the path, which is now tarmac-surfaced. At the end, turn left and immediately ignore a street on the right.
(7) At the corner by the church, climb the steep steps and go through the gate leading to the small adjoining cemetery. Walk past the front of the church and go back down the other side via a sloping path. Go through a gate and continue straight on along a street between the school on your left and the wall of a property on your right. At the end (war memorial on the left), cross the D205 and return to the car park (S/E).
