Paulhac - Valuéjols

Departure from the Fréneraie stopover lodge, Rue de Ribeyrol.

(S) Join Rue du Col de Prat de Bouc and follow it to the left. You will quickly come to the D34, which you should follow to the right, passing the castle and then the town hall.

(1) At the crossroads, go straight ahead, leaving the church on your left and crossing the centre of Paulhac. Shortly afterwards, turn right onto Rue des Violettes, which rejoins the D34.

(2) At the end, cross the D34 with caution and take Rue de Coustil opposite. Follow this road for a long time until you reach the hamlet of Bressanges (chapel).

(3) Leave the chapel on your right and, after about 50 metres, take the first path on the left. Walk westwards and slightly uphill for about 750 metres.

(4) At the three-way junction, turn right at an acute angle and descend. You will come to a small road. Follow it to the left, cross a stream and climb up to the hamlet of Sauvages.

(5) Take the hairpin bend to the left into Rue du Frau and immediately ignore a dead end on the left, then two paths on the right. Further on, ignore a path on the left and head north-west. The tarmac gives way to a track, which you follow straight ahead until you reach a junction near the Fraut Bas farm (cross).

(6) Then take a path on the right heading north-northeast and enter a wood. After about 500 m, take the first path on the left (northwest).

(7) At the crossroads, turn left (west). Ignore a path on the right and continue through the woods. Approach the edge of the woods, turn right onto the path and continue west-northwest.

(8) At the intersection, continue straight ahead (ignore the path coming from the right). Walk north-northeast along the edge of the woods.

(9) At the intersection at the edge of the woods, continue straight ahead and follow the GR®4 north-northeast. Cross a stream and head northeast. Continue further east-northeast and arrive at Lescure Haut (church and cemetery).

(10) At the entrance to the hamlet, turn right. Then turn left and right, leaving the church on your left. Continue straight ahead (south-east) until you reach the entrance to the hamlet of Lescure Bas.

(11) Then turn left and cross the hamlet, ignoring all the turnings on the left. Cross a stream, ignore a path on the left and continue south-east.

(12) At the entrance to the hamlet of Brageac, turn left onto a path. Follow the GR®4 and GRP® trails to the northeast, then east. Stay on the main marked path and ignore all turnoffs on either side. After a sharp right turn, then a left turn, you will arrive at the hamlet of Galuse.

(13) Take a small road on the left. Pass the place called La Sagne and you will come to a crossroads. Turn left, then immediately right at the corner of the cemetery, Rue du 19 mars 1962. You will soon see the Valuéojols communal lodge on your right (E).
