Starting from Cuxac-Cabardès or one of the surrounding villages, join the D562. Heading north, you will come to a junction with a sign for “Parc éolien de Cuxac & Grand Bois”. There is enough space there to park several cars.
(S/E) Start the walk by heading due east in the direction of the arrow on the sign mentioned above. A wide, rather bumpy track will take you to the foot of the first wind turbine.
(1) Take the wide track on the left, which will take you past three wind turbines. Note the large red graphic on the second one; I couldn’t work out what it represented.
(2) Immediately after the third one, turn left again towards the fourth wind turbine. Follow this wide track through the heart of the forest. A few sweeping bends will take you to a crossroads with a small yellow sign reading “Entre Sources et Lauzes”.
(3) Be careful not to follow the direction indicated by the sign. Turn left onto a grassy, downhill track.
(4) Continue along the same track, which becomes quite rough, very rocky and rutted. You’ll arrive at La Combe Haute, an old ruined farm. Walk past the ruins and go round them.
(5) Turn right onto this track, which is still quite rough. It gradually improves until it meets another track that is easily passable.
(6) Turn right onto this wide track, which climbs gently for nearly three kilometres. Pass another wind turbine.
(1) Continue straight on along the section you arrived on. 600m further on, you’ll reach the cars (S/E).
