Napf - Lüderenalp via the Alpenpanorama Weg

This stage will take you from Napf to Lüderenalp. You will follow a scenic trail with a variety of landscapes. You will alternate between woods and the alpine pastures of the Emmental, a valley renowned for its cheese. Lüderenalp, like Napf, is very popular with holidaymakers. Here again, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Jura and the Bernese Alps.

Description of the walk

For ease of description, the following symbols are used:
R sign: yellow sign with a hiker pictogram
W sign: sign or diamond with the annotation Wanderweg
Sign No. 3: yellow multi-directional sign with green sticker No. 3

The starting point for this stage is at the Berghotel in Napf.

(S) Leave the Berghotel grounds through the gate to the west. Follow the direction indicated by sign No. 3. Begin the descent on a path that curves around before reaching another sign No. 3.

(1) Continue along the path to the Niederänzi restaurant.

(2) Pass the buildings and continue west on the track until you reach a fork (sign no. 3).

(3) Keep heading west, leaving the track by turning right. After a few hairpin bends, climb slightly and you will come to another signpost no. 3.

(4) Continuing west, you will soon reach another sign no. 3 indicating to turn left. Begin a moderate descent to the next sign no. 3 located at an intersection.

(5) Follow the signs marked No. 3 to easily reach the Alprestaurant Lushütte.

(6) Continue along the small road until you reach a fork marked by the famous signpost no. 3.

(7) Turn left and, now heading south, follow the next sign no. 3, located at a fork in the road.

(8) Keep right and walk under the Geissgrat to reach another intersection with sign no. 3.

(9) Turn right and continue along a ridge path that goes around the Rotchnubel on the right. After a chalet at an altitude of 1201 metres, join a small road and follow it until you reach a W sign.

(10) At the sign, leave the road that descends towards a farm on your left. Take the path heading west that descends into the woods to the Hotel Bärsischt in Lüderenalp, where you can spend the night (E).

  • Alpine pastures: You will cross numerous alpine pastures, where farmers are very cooperative with hikers. Please stay on the paths that cross their property. Remember to close any gates behind you.
