The route starts from the car park of the Church of Comps, located on the D547, about 1 km after the town hall in the direction of Dieulefit.
(S/E) Take the tarmac road behind the church, heading south-west to the bottom of the descent.
(1) At the crossroads, turn right towards Col de la Pousterle. The dirt track continues almost horizontally until you reach a crossroads.
(2) Leave the main track and turn left uphill, still heading towards Col de la Pousterle. Ignore a track starting off to the right and continue along a path that crosses the bottom of a small ravine and continues upwards through a small pine forest. After a slightly steep climb, the path veers to the right, heading north-west, and joins Col de la Pousterle.
(3) Continue to the right, towards Pont de Gournier, following the ridge to enjoy the beautiful views provided by the openings in the undergrowth along the ridge. Pass the first "hill" (elevation 901) to reach the altitude 883.
(4) Stop before the path starts to descend again, turn around and return to Col de la Pousterle.
(3) Once at the pass, take the path that climbs opposite, towards the Cime des Ventes, following more or less the summit section to the summit at 936 metres, marked by a cairn and a geodetic marker.
(5) The return journey is made by continuing along the path that follows the wooded ridge and then descends more steeply over exposed rocks to reach an intersection after about 15 minutes of descent.
(6) The path appears to branch off in three directions. Take the most clearly marked path on the left, jumping over the small rocky outcrop, and continue through the undergrowth to join theGR®9. Turn left and head for the crossroads at the bottom of the church.
(1) Climb back up opposite and return to the church car park (S/E).
