The hike starts from the car park just before the Pont du Countet bridge.
(S/E) Cross the Pont du Countet and immediately turn right onto the yellow-marked trail that leads to Pas de l'Arpette.
After a few metres above the Gordolasque, the trail climbs through the forest and winds its way to a large pipe.
(1) Pass under it and continue in the same direction into the Vallon d'Empuonrame.
The slope levels off then steepens at the bottom of the valley. You may start to see some marmots in the rocks. The trail then curves sharply to the left to reach Pas de l'Arpette with a steady climb and a few switchbacks just below the pass.
(2) Follow the first trail that branches off to the left just below the ridge line towards Mont des Merveilles. Then pass under the summit and continue straight ahead, heading for a small pass at the bottom of the cirque. From this pass, there is a beautiful view of the Conques lakes. Then turn left and follow the ridge to the summit. Be careful, there is a small, narrow, vertiginous passage a few metres from the summit.
(3) Enjoy the view of the surrounding peaks (Grand Capelet, Gélas, Ponset, Cime du Diable, Mont Bégo) and descend via the same route to the starting point (S/E).
