Moneglia - Bonassola

(S) Departure from Moneglia

Point 1: Lemeglio
After 1.1 km, at the T-junction, turn right towards Deiva. We will lose sight of the signposts for a while, but will find them again later. 3.9 KM
After 600m, at the T-junction, turn left, still heading towards Deiva. You will walk alongside a wire fence. 4.5 KM
After 1.2 km, the road branches off to the left. We continue straight on down a narrow lane. Further down, we come to a small path and go down the steps. 5.7 KM
After 100m, we reach a main road. Cross the road and turn right. The signposting is very vague at this point. You will walk alongside a river, cross a bridge and then pass under a second bridge. 6.8 KM
After 1.1 km, cross the river on your left via a third bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn left facing the campsite. You will soon reach a T-junction; turn right towards the Parco Vacanze Campeggio Framura. 7.9 KM
You will walk alongside a fence and then turn left at the sign indicating Framura at 2h10 and Bonnassola at 4h30. On the dirt track, make sure you stay on the main path (first junction on the left, second junction on the right right at the start of the track)
After 1.1 km and a fairly steep climb, at the junction just after the bench, turn right towards the two houses. We take a track. 8 KM
After 100 m, continue along the track towards Framura (1h 30m) and Bonnassola (3h 30m). The remaining times are shown on a sign behind us. 8.1 KM
After 1.4 km, at the junction, stay on the main track. 9.5 KM
After 500 m, you’ll reach a road. Turn right towards the sea. 10 KM
After 300 m, you will leave the tarmac road at a right-hand bend. Take the narrow path that descends to the left. 10.30 KM
When you come out of the path, rejoin the road and head down to the left. 10.35 KM
You enter the village; the signposting disappears. At the next junction, continue left towards the centre. 12.60 KM
You’ll reach a junction with a main road, with a sign for Deiva Marina on the left. Turn right and head downhill. 12.65 KM
At this point, there are several small streets you can take. Simply head down towards the south-west. Do not go all the way to the bottom of the village of Framura, to the station.
At the village of Anzo and its centre, rejoin the main road; then take the first left after the centre, onto Via Luigi Duina, where there is a sign for Bonnassola at 2h10. 13.50 KM
After a climb, we leave the road and take a dirt track on our left. 14 km
The path zigzags through the woods; stay on the main path towards the river. You’ll arrive at the village of Montaretto and come to a track. Take it on the right. 15.8 KM

Point 2: Montaretto
Another track; we follow it to the right, towards Poglio del Salice. 16 km
The track climbs, then descends and is paved. A path begins on the left behind a house; take it and walk through the olive groves. 16.8 KM
In a forest, the path is rutted. Descend over the uneven ground and continue straight on. 17 km
We reach a road; we take it to the left and arrive at a house and a small dirt-paved area. We then turn right onto the path towards Salto della Lepre. 17.1 km
Head to the viewpoint. You’ll see a junction towards Bonassola, which you should ignore for now to reach the viewpoint. After admiring the view, head back to the previous junction and follow the path towards Bonassola. 17.8 KM
Follow the signs carefully; the path will lead you to a road, which you follow to the right. After a hairpin bend on your right, you will see a staircase leading down. Be careful not to miss it – it is inconspicuous and has no handrail. 19 KM
You’ll come to another road and another flight of steps, which leads you to the church square. Walk down to sea level. You’ll arrive in the centre of Bonassola. To get to the station, take the first street on your left. 19.2 KM
