Framura – Bonassola – Sella dei Bagari – Levanto

Departure from Framura station.

(S) From the station, take the steps opposite, to the right of the tunnel, and walk 500 m. You’ll reach a crossroads of paths.

(1) Leave the main path and take the smaller one. Continue along this path, marked in white and red, and enjoy the beautiful view of the sea. Stay on this path until you reach Bonassola.

(2) Walk through the village heading east and, on leaving the village, you’ll reach Via Scernio.

(3) Take this road and continue to follow the red and white markings. Then carry on along Via Valle Santa, which is also part of the Sentiero Ligure Stage 5. Continue to Secca della Galera.

(4) Continue along the beach until you reach some steps.

(5) Take the steps to rejoin the Sentiero Liguria – Stage 5 and its red and white markings. You’ll reach a junction with a tarmac road.

(6) Leave the path and turn left onto this road. On the left, you’ll soon come to another junction.

(7) Turn right onto a concrete path that climbs steeply. It turns into a stony path 600 metres further on; continue until you reach another junction.

(8) Stay firmly on the path on the right and continue the climb to reach another fork situated below Monte Focone.

(9) Turn left towards Sella dei Bagari and begin the descent here until you reach a crossroads with several routes.

(10) Be careful here as it is not very well signposted. Carry on straight ahead; do not take the sign for Levento (2h00) but continue to the left and, after 50 metres, you will reach a second sign for Levanto (0h45). Continue the descent, which is quite steep in places, to reach the terminus at Levanto (E).
Take the train back to Framura.
