(S) Take the road at the town hall, towards Puy Griou, Col de Cabre, following the GR® signs (signposts) towards the hamlet of Liadouze. The GPX track starts from the Gite Vert Azur and not from the village centre.
About 1 km later, the GR® leaves the tarmac, branches off to the right, then left again a hundred metres further on. The path climbs steeply, under cover, until it passes a water tower and arrives at a strategic fork (see note in introduction).
(1) Leave the GR®400 route to the Col de Pertus on your right and continue straight ahead on the green and/or orange marked route (not very visible, but you're unlikely to get lost) towards the Col de Gliziou. The trail continues to climb through a magnificent beech forest. After a right-hand bend, you will come to a crossroads.
(2) Keep right, following intermittent signposts alternating with green or orange markings painted on trees. The trail reaches a T-junction.
(3) Take the track that climbs to the left, towards the east, then, after about 1 km to the north-east, before reaching a fork.
(4) Stay on the right-hand track uphill, in the same direction. Shortly afterwards, the track joins the GR®400 coming from the Col de Pertus.
(5) Continue left to the Col du Gliziou.
(6) Leave the GR®400 trail again and follow the PR® trail on the left. You will reach a crossroads after about 500 m.
(7) Turn left to reach the Puy de l'Usclade. You can climb it (elevation gain approx. 100 m).
(8) Return in the same direction to the previous junction.
(7) Turn left, and the track gradually heads towards Puy Griou. It goes around a hill marked 1,436 on the IGN map to reach another fork.
(9) Rejoin the GR®400. Here, you can bypass Puy Griou on the left via the GR®400 to climb it. The path up is located opposite our position.
Take the right-hand path following the GR® markings, then shortly after a descent into the woods, you will reach a crossroads.
(10) Leave the GR® on your right and take a route marked in yellow and green (near the climbing routes) on your left until you reach the wide track that leads to the Col de Font de Cere.
(11) It passes by some beautiful restored buildings (burons). Arrive at a place called La Cabane.
(12) Continue in the same direction to reach the Col de Font de Cere (inn, refuge).
(13) Continue along the GR® which follows a section of tarmac road until the first bend.
(14) Leave the tarmac and continue on a path through the woods, which crosses the Fond d'Alagnon ski slopes several times and goes around the Puy de Masseboeuf, arriving above the Lioran resort via the footbridge that crosses the D67 (ski slope in winter).
All that remains is to descend to the centre of the resort and all its facilities (E).
