Description of the walk

Start: Small car park by the side of the Cold Fell road by the sign of the Forestry England.

(S/E) Walk west toward the forest, passing the small gate. Continue straight on the main path until you see a large path on your left.

(1) Turn left and keep walking on this large path that will slowly turn.

(2) Arriving at an intersection of paths, turn right on the main path. Continue straight until seeing (1) and the entrance gate (S/E).

Notes

Worth a visit

Can visit Egremont town or finish the day at one of the pubs in Ennerdale village or do a walk around Ennerdale Water, which are very close by car.

The YHA is a great institution and I guess most fell walkers have stayed at a hostel at some time in their lives. They were created "to help all, especially young people of limited means, to a greater knowledge, love and care of the countryside, particularly by providing hostels or other simple accommodation for them on their travels".
