Thank you for the comment
Forestry route planning is always difficult to maintain, due to the ongoing work
On several walks I have gone astray in such conditions, Like yourself I believe most walkers are capable of negotiating through forests to come out and regain their original aim

Appreciate you taking the time to pass on this update
Enjoy your walks

(The title doesn't quite match the text - its Crag Fell, Grike and Lank Rigg) Great views on a good, quite up and down route in the peaceful northwestern end of the Lakes. Car park surprisingly busy. Foresters were removing diseased larch on the first uphill stretch but we were allowed through despite signs to the contrary - the bottom section of path will be reinstated once the work has finished. Quite a lot of the other stretches of forest have been felled so the expected visual landmarks aren't always quite as obvious. At (6) suggest use your compass to get to the (first) ford. At (8) you want what on the day we went seemed in effect to be the middle of three paths/trods (the lowest one is a bit harder going but still joins the one you want). At (11) we passed to the right not left of (now felled) forest and (12) didn't seem obvious on the ground - we should have followed a wall/fence down (we definitely went off piste here). Notwithstanding our variances, more than happy to recommend this fine walk.
