From Bagnères de Bigorre, follow the road to La Mongie Payolle (D935).
After Campan, about 4 km away (at an altitude of 756 m), take a road on the right marked "Le Peyras" (D154).
Continue climbing this road. In a left-hand bend, leave the Peyras lodge on your right and continue climbing. The ideal place to park for this circular route is at the start of the "Lac d'Aygue Rouye". There is a small car park next to a cattle grid.
(S) From this car park, continue climbing along the snow-covered Forestière de la Niclade road. This is the starting point for the hike to Lac d'Aygue Rouye.
(1) Arrive at the Col de la Courade at 1,272 metres. A little higher up on the right is a paragliding launch site.
Turn left. Take the track (south-west) on the left, which climbs very steeply. Follow this track, old yellow markings will help you.
(2) At the edge of the woods (1619 m), follow the ridge (due south), which will take you to the summit and the Sarradet clearing.
(3) Arrive at the summit of Liset De Hount Blanque 1941m (boundary marker and small stone wall).
The view is extraordinary. A 1:50,000 scale map will help you identify some of the summits.
Caution: The descent can be tricky if there has been heavy frost. The slope is steep.
From there, head due east and descend the entire ridge until you reach an altitude of 1,789 metres.
Then head north-east.
(4) Arrive at Soum De Castet 1591m. Another magnificent view of the peaks. Continue descending via the north-east ridge.
(5) At the end of this long descent, you will arrive at the Croix du Peyras.
Turn left, heading due west, and follow the track.
This track will take you to the car park where your cars are waiting for you, or a little further on to the right.
