This hike is based on the route published by SICOVAL "Circular walk from Notre-Dame des Bois", which I modified at the end.
The Ariège from bottom to top
A very varied hike, combining bucolic trails along the Ariège river and aerial passages on the cliffs. Very little tarmac, lots of trails, beautiful views of the plains and the Pyrenees. The hike ends with a visit to the charming village of Clermont-le-Fort.
Épinouse route
This is a lovely route offering numerous panoramic views of the northern slopes of the Vercors. Halfway along the route, you will pass a very pretty chapel worthy of the Smurf village.
Between the Lèze and Garonne valleys, starting from Montaut
This hike takes place on the hillsides between the Lèze and Garonne valleys. The first part leads to the banks of the Garonne, then climbs back up the hillsides, offering beautiful views of the two valleys and the Pyrenees mountain range.
After climbing up from the banks of the Garonne, you will walk from valley to valley.
Route de l’Âne Gris in Lézat-sur-Lèze
A hike in the hills above Lézat-sur-Lèze with magnificent views of the Pyrenees. The two mills at the top of the hill are built on the ruins of a Roman castrum.

Walk in the hills of the historic village of Saint-Sulpice-sur-Lèze from its centre. In good weather, there are beautiful views of the Lèze valley and, on a clear day, a view of the Pyrenees mountain range where you can see Mont Valier (Ariège) and the Pic du Midi de Bigorre (Hautes-Pyrénées, 150 km away).
