Description of the walk

This walk starts from the car park by the wash house.

(S/E) From the washhouse car park, head due west for about 20 metres to reach the road. Turn left onto the road. Shortly afterwards, ignore a path on the left. Continue along the road to the right until you reach the next road on the left.

(1) Turn left towards Les Gogers and, as soon as the road turns right, take the path on the left-hand side. 50 metres further on, you’ll rejoin the tarmac road. Carry on straight ahead and, shortly afterwards, take thefirst path on the right, which leads to a road a little further on.

(2) Head left for about 100 metres and take thefirst path on the left.
A little further on, ignore the path on the right and carry on straight ahead, taking the next path on the left; continue straight ahead and take thefirst path on the left again. A little further on, you’ll reach the road.

(3) Cross the road and carry on straight ahead for about 50 metres. As soon as the road bends to the left, leave it and take the track opposite for about 1 km until you reach the next track on the right. Turn right, carry on straight ahead along the edge on your right-hand side until you reach the entrance to the Cour de Prunoy farm.

(4) Cross the Cour de Prunoy and carry on until you reach the D 18. Cross with great care and head off to the right, towards Prunoy, for about 200 metres. Turn left and continue along the tarmac road as it climbs. At the very top, as soon as the road bends left towards La Bissotterie, leave it.

(5) Carry on straight ahead along the path until it joins a cross-path. Turn left and follow the path, veering first to the right and then to the left. From there, continue through the woodland. Ignore a path on the left. As you emerge from the woodland, ignore the path on the right, and shortly afterwards, a path on the left. Carry on straight ahead until you reach the road.

(6) Turn left onto the road and, immediately afterwards, take thefirst road on the right for about 100 metres. Cross the bridge. Turn left and follow the path for about 1 km, ignoring a path on the right that leads uphill a little further on. Continue straight on until you reach a road at La Chanteraine.

(7) Carry on straight ahead along the road for about 150 metres. Ignore the road on the left; take the one slightly to the right towards the centre of Villefranche until you reach the D 943. In front of the wash house, turn left. At the D 943 (Rue de Joigny), turn left until you reach the next road on the right (Rue du Couvent).

(8) Continue straight on. Pass the post office on your left. Shortly afterwards, cross the pedestrian crossing on the right. Turn left, ignoring Allée du Docteur Gothereau on your right just after this. Then walk past the car garage on your right, and immediately afterwards take Ruelle du Puits on the right-hand side, which leads to the D 18. First turn left then right and head straight on along Rue des Forgerons. Walk down this street until you reach the next road on the right.

(9) Ignore this road; continue straight ahead along a path which leads shortly afterwards to a footbridge. Cross the footbridge and turn left to reach a road. Cross the road and turn right until you reach a crossroad at the very top. Turn left and continue straight on until the next junction.

(10) Turn left and, 150 metres further on, cross to the right and take the path opposite. Carry on straight ahead until you reach the entrance to the woodland. Continue straight ahead through the woodland. On leaving the woodland, head right for about thirty metres until you reach a cross-road.

(11) Turn left until you reach a road. Turn left onto the road. Follow it downhill until you reach the D 943 at the bottom. Cross the road carefully, then first turn right then left, and head straight ahead to return to the starting point. (S/E)

Notes

Warning!

Between points (9) and (10), the footbridge has been moved a few metres to the left.
Just before the ditch, head left along a stretch where there is no path for about 15 metres until you reach the wooden footbridge on your right.
Take care when crossing it.
Once you have crossed it, turn left to rejoin the path.

Thank you for your understanding.
