The Chaumotte and Crouteaux ponds

The route starts in the car park between the bakery and the town hall.

(S/E) Head north towards the schools. Opposite, take the footpath slightly to the left which leads up towards the school. Keep to the right, with the last school on your left and the last car park on your right.
Continue along the path to the left until you come to the next path on the left (not shown on the map).
Turn left into the woods until you reach the D18. Cross with care and head right for about 80m, then take the path on the left which slopes down slightly. Follow it and, a little further on, cross the ford if there isn’t too much water; otherwise, take the footbridge on the right and then return to the left onto the path, following it to the road.

(1) Cross the road and head towards Les Dionnets. Once you reach Les Dionnets, go straight on, ignoring the path on the left that goes uphill and, just after that, the path on the right. Continue to the road.

Turn left onto the road towards La Chaumotte until you reach the next four-way junction.

(3) Go straight on towards La Milonnerie, ignoring the road on the left towards Les Miniers and the one on the right. Walk alongside the Étang de la Chaumotte on your left. A little further on, pass in front of La Milonnerie. Continue straight on and head into the woods until you find a path on the left.

(4) Turn left, following the edge of the woods on your left. Pass a pond on your right and, at the next junction, take the path on the left. Continue towards Bois Brûlés and Étang des Crouteaux until you reach a road.

Turn right until you reach the next junction. Cross the crossroads and head straight on towards Les Barbets.

(6) When you reach Les Barbets on your right, continue along the road towards Les Rochys, ignoring the path on the right immediately after. Carry straight on until you reach the first houses in Les Rochys. Ignore the two roads on the left immediately after and continue to the next T-junction. Turn left towards La Sablonnière.

(7) Turn right, ignoring the road on the left towards Les Laveaux, and continue to the next junction. Go straight on at this first junction and the next one, heading towards Les Joncs. You will reach a junction.

(8) Turn right, ignoring the road opposite towards Les Joncs. At the bottom of the road, take the path on the left (not shown on the IGN map), ignoring the road leading towards the D943. Follow the path until you come to a small wooden bridge on the right. Cross this bridge; a little further on, the path becomes a road. Follow it to the next junction with Rue des Forgerons on the left. Continue straight on to the D18. Cross the D18 carefully and head left for about 15 metres, then immediately turn right onto Ruelle du Puits until you reach the D943. Turn left, staying on the left-hand pavement. About 50 metres before the bakery, take Allée du Docteur Gauthereau. When you reach the town hall, turn right twice in succession and return to the starting point (S/E).
