Start from the car park along the Vidourle river near the Sommières bullring.
(S/E) Pass between the school and the campsite, go past the tennis courts and continue along the small tarmac road. Start following the yellow markings.
Go under the bridge, turn right and then left. Continue along this small road which joins the Vidourle.
(1) Pass in front of the Moulin de Villevieille (on your left). Walk along a recently planted olive grove on your left, then turn right onto a small dirt track. Follow the yellow markings. At the fork, turn left to reach a bridge, then pass underneath it.
(2) A few metres further on, before reaching the motocross track, turn right towards Moulin de Pattes. Climb a small staircase to reach an old railway line, follow it to the right, cross the first part of the bridge and at the beginning of the second part, descend to the right. Go straight under the bridge on the left. Turn right, go around the field (on your left) and turn right into a small copse. Follow the yellow markings to find a small tarmac road, which you will take to the left (Chemin de la Gare).
(3) Take this small road, go up it and cross the Vidourle at Moulin de Pattes. Continue for 400 to 500 metres, then turn left to go down towards the roundabout on Route de Sommières
Cross the roundabout on the right (watch out for fast-moving cars) and follow the signs for Chapelle Saint-Julien (signposted) along a small road parallel to Route de Sommières (which will be on your right). You will reach the Valat des Romanes stream.
(4) Turn left to go up Chemin de Saint-Julien. Pass in front of the Chapelle Saint-Julien de Montredon and reach a three-way junction. Follow the right fork onto Chemin de la Fontaine de Montredon.
(5) At the next three-way junction, turn left onto Chemin des Candelles and walk a few metres, then turn left again onto the path leading uphill. Pass a very pretty drystone shelter.
Go back down the path to a small road, which you will follow to the right for 300 to 400 metres (this is Chemin de la Plaine de Montredon).
(6) Take this path on the left (under the high-voltage line) to climb up towards the small wood and join the Sentier du Village de Montredon.
Turn right before a property and walk along the fence of a housing estate on your right to reach a small tarmac road (Les Pentes de Montredon).
Go back down to the locomotive roundabout, stay on the right-hand pavement, and head back up towards "Lunel Montpellier, Sommières autres quartiers".
(7) Stay on the pavement for 300 to 400 metres to reach Pas de Gravevesse. Turn left, cross the Moulin de Gravevesse passes and head towards the Arènes de Sommières car park (S/E).
