Departure from Place Meynier, in front of the bar, in Salinelles.
Yellow signposts
(S/E) Head back towards the centre of the village. On the right, below the road, you will see the magnificent water wheel and wash house. On the left, in the castle courtyard, there is another water wheel and the orangery. Go up Rue du Fournil, pass the post office and turn right (sign for Lecques 3km).
(1) Go up the road for about 100 metres, then take the small tarmac road on the left (signposted Chemin de la Rouvière) which climbs between a group of houses.
Then turn into the first dirt track on the right (signposted Chemin du Moulin de Runel), which will take you downhill through a small wood to the Route de Lecques at the corner of the cemetery. Follow the Route de Lecques for 50 metres.
Turn right onto the dirt track (Chemin de la Carrierrasse) and follow it downhill to a large bend with a big oak tree.
(2) Turn left, continue along the edge of the field alongside a row of fruit trees (walnut trees) and cross the field. Continue along a path that runs alongside the Route de Lecques for about ten metres until you reach the small road to Domaine de La Clotte.
Turn right to cross the bridge over the floodway (swimming possible in summer when the water flow is sufficient). Don't miss the view of the magnificent Moulin de Runel dam. Follow Chemin de la Clotte for about 100 metres.
(3) Turn right onto the dirt track (after the mill on the left and before an old sheepfold) and follow it for about 500 metres, running parallel to the Vidourle but separated by a small wood.
(4) Turn left under the old railway bridge. Follow the path with large limestone slabs, which is quite steep at first, then continue for about 1 km, winding through the heath of holm oaks.
(5) Turn left at the fork. Leave the path and take the one on the right, then turn left before the vineyard. Continuing along the path, you will come to a vineyard, turn left, then another vineyard, which you follow on your left. Keep slightly to the right to follow another vineyard on your left and arrive at Mas de Brut.
(6) Go down the stony path, keeping the farmhouse on your left, and turn slightly right onto the path that will take you 500 metres further on to the road (chemin de la gare) and the old railway station.
Turn right and go around the old station on your left, then follow the road for about 200 metres to arrive at Moulin de Pattes. On the horizon, you will see the splendid Chapel of Saint-Julien de Montredon.
Cross the river, admiring the magnificent mill and its water reservoir once again. Go back up the Chemin de la Gare towards the road that leads back to the Route de Sommières. When you reach the crossroads, cross it and take the small dirt track opposite, despite the yellow signpost. When you reach the paved road to Saint-Julien, go around the water treatment plant on your right, follow the yellow signs again and return to the starting point about 700 metres away (S/E).
