Description of the walk

Start from the car park opposite the Auberge du Grand Coin, situated near the hamlet of La Planche, on the edge of the D99, above Montaimont.

(S/E) Set off up the road towards Bonvillard, then quickly turn left onto the path that climbs through the woods towards the hamlet of Taramur.
In the hamlet, continue along the path opposite, towards Le Loup. Take a moment to stop and take some photos of this hamlet, typical of Montaimont’s architecture.
Then walk through the hamlet of Le Loup until you reach a fork in the path.

(1) Take the tarmac road on the right and head downhill for about 500 metres. Take the path that climbs to the left, across the fields, and arrive at a crossroads.

(2) Turn right downhill, towards Bonvillard. Pass close to Bonvillard Chapel, then continue to the crossroad below. Turn right, walk through the village and head for the car park.

(3) Take the path – which isn’t very well marked – at the corner of the track that starts with a hairpin bend to the left. Descend gradually across the fields to the hamlet of La Scie.

(4) Continue to the right along the road and head uphill until you reach the car park (S/E).

The hike is beautiful and easy, and I would even suggest continuing on to Lac du Loup, which is very cute. The hamlet of Le Loup is a little corner of paradise, and the hamlet of La Scie still has its working sawmill (worth seeing).

Very nice hike
We even made a 400-metre detour to go to the Wolf Lake. It was well worth the extra effort.
Many thanks to the people who cleared the brush and mowed the trails.
