Park in the car park at the foot of Val Obscur on the banks of the Argens.
(S/E) Follow the road that runs along the left bank of the Argens towards Correns. Cross a small bridge and you will reach a path that climbs up to the left.
(1) Turn left onto Chemin des Baumes, pass a house and continue towards the river. Follow this track, which then climbs up the left bank as the river dries up and the valley becomes wilder. Continue past several houses until you reach a major intersection at a cistern.
(2) Turn left towards the N86 track. The path climbs through the vineyards and offers a clear view of the surrounding hills and Gros Bessillon behind you.
The path then reaches a large solar panel park. Walk about 300 m along this area and look for a path, marked by a few cairns, which descends to the left (the app may be useful in finding the path).
(3) Take the path that leads into the undergrowth and follow it to a clearing near a new isolated house.
(4) Descend to the left, initially following the forest, then climb slightly along another deforested area and then enter the heath via a winding path.
Then turn right to descend towards Val Obscur, which is not as dark as its name suggests.
The cliff-top path gradually descends to the bottom of the valley, where you can see the pools that form when it rains.
Continue along the path on the right bank of the valley, sometimes on a narrow ledge, until you come out above the vineyard opposite the car park on the other side of the road. Cross the road carefully to return to the starting point. (S/E).
