Park in the Parc Voltaire car park, near the traffic lights, on the outskirts of Nœux, towards Hersin.
(S/E) Start with your back to the traffic lights. At the junction, turn right into Rue Voltaire to walk alongside the park. Ignore the streets on the left and continue straight ahead. The tarmac soon gives way to a footpath. (October 2023: the first 50 metres or so of the path are in fairly poor condition due to the construction of a housing estate.) This path, which runs alongside the D65, is now in excellent condition. It climbs gently, passes close to the Ferme du Blanc Mont (on the right) and arrives at a junction.
(1) Turn left. 700 m further on, turn right towards Hersin-Coupigny to reach the T-junction with Rue Marcel Rémi.
(2) Turn right and stay on the small road until you reach the entrance to the cemetery. Then turn right onto Rue de la Chapelle and continue to the D65 (Rue Émile Combes).
(3) Follow it to the left until you reach the Stop sign. Then turn right onto Rue Jules Guesde and continue to a junction where you turn left. Stay on this good path for 1 km until you reach the junction at Blanc Mont.
(4) Turn left, ignore the path coming from the left and cross the Loisne. Pass under the power line and reach the D179 at Le Caroy.
(5) Follow it for about a hundred metres to the right, then turn left at the beet loading platform. Join a path that isn’t always in the best condition and follow it due north until you reach an isolated house on the right.
(6) Take the pretty path opposite between the hedges and reach a crossroads.
(7) Turn right onto a path that eventually widens, pass under the power line again and reach an inverted Y-junction.
(8) Turn right and, 200 m further on, take the path on the left to reach the D 179 at the entrance to Nœux. Follow it carefully on the left until you reach the traffic lights. The car park is opposite (S/E).
