The start is at the Saint-Honoré1500 station above Villard-Saint-Christophe. Go to the end of the car park (there is an information board with a map).
(S/E) The path goes straight ahead across a meadow. The climb continues through a wood with some fairly steep sections. After two hairpin bends, leave a path on the right that climbs up to Piquet de Nantes and continue straight ahead.
(1) Leave the woods and begin a long traverse, where the slope becomes less steep. After about an hour, you will arrive at a flat area where you will find the small Lac de Charlet.
(2) The climb continues towards the bottom of the valley, the path turns east and, after a few hairpin bends through the meadow, joins the Col de l'Ollière. At this point, the view extends westwards over the Lacs de Laffrey, the summit of La Peyrouse and the Vercors in the distance.
(3) At the pass, look for a trail on the left that heads north along the mountainside. Follow this trail, which is well marked but not signposted. The trail then begins a long traverse along the mountainside for a little over 1.5 km to the Col du Parché, passing under the Perrollier ski lift line.
N.B. At the start of the season, it is recommended to follow the track that descends towards the Alpe du Grand Serre resort to an altitude of 1918 metres, then turn left and join the track that climbs towards the Col du Parché. Late snowfall can leave snowfields that are difficult to cross due to the steepness of the slope.
(4) After the pass, the path heads south and begins the descent to the starting point. Follow an alpine road to the end, enjoying the view of the Tabor massif, whose summit rises to 2,389 metres. To return to the starting point, stay on the trail and take a short climb.
N.B. At the Col du Parché, you can opt to climb to the summit of the Grand Serre in around 45 minutes to enjoy a 360° panorama and a bird's eye view of the city of Grenoble. The path is well marked and climbs up through the mountain pastures, following the ridge line.
(5) At the junction with the mountain road, continue the descent.
(6) Cross the Jonche. Continue towards the starting point (S/E).
