In the centre of the village of Villard-Saint-Christophe, on Place de la Bascule, near a pond, the old weighbridge and the communal oven, a sign on the right indicates the direction of the village hall and the restaurant "Le Chalet". Take this road and continue to the end near the restaurant.
(S) From the Chalet car park, walk back down the road towards Villard-Saint-Christophe for about 200 metres until you reach a bend on the left.
(1) Take the path on the right, which is poorly marked (no signposts), starting just behind a road sign (blue with white arrows) indicating a bend. It is quite steep at the start and passes under a broken branch after a few metres.
After about 100 metres, you will arrive at an enclosure where there are often horses that are used to walkers passing by. This path, popular with the villagers, follows the edge of the forest and offers beautiful views of the village and Lake Pierre Châtel.
50 metres after leaving the enclosure (the barrier is easy to cross), you will come to a path.
(2) Take this path to the right until you reach a sign indicating "Croix de Gouret 2400m" to the left shortly afterwards.
(3) Follow this path, turn right after about 100 metres (new sign) and continue. The path, marked in yellow, is steadily sloping and runs through the forest almost to the summit, which is very pleasant in summer.
The only difficulty is halfway up, where you come to a forest road that you must take on the left for about 20 metres before rejoining the path on the right.
(4) At the Croix de Gouret, continue climbing for a few dozen metres until you reach the path connecting Saint-Honoré 1500 and Alpe du Grand Serre (yellow sign).
After admiring the landscape (the Matheysine lakes below, Vercors to the west, Dévoluy to the south), descend to the right towards "Saint Honoré 1500".
After about 10 minutes, you will hear and then see the river, the Jonche, which crosses the path.
(5) Take the path that descends to the right about 50 metres before the river.
This path is quite steep and not very well maintained. It crosses an avalanche zone where there are a few branches (avalanche of December 2012), but it is still very passable. It crosses a few other paths or trails, but it is impossible to go wrong if you always take the steepest slope.
(6) On the descent, you will come back to the forest road you saw on the way up. Cross it and continue downhill to return to the chalet car park:

s against ticks + avoid wearing shorts as the nettles sting! As the path became increasingly impassable on the descent, when we reached (6) we went back up the forest road to return to (3) and then back through the forest (2), (1) and finally arrived at
